Dr. Gail Weingast’s influence extends beyond her role as Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut. For over 20 years, she has been a mentor, inspiring and guiding the next generation of radiologists with her expertise and dedication.
Her career began with a BA in Spanish from Tufts University in 1969, followed by a medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 1976. Dr. Weingast’s rigorous training included pediatrics and radiology residencies at Colorado General Hospital, culminating in ultrasound specialization at St. Anthony’s Hospital by 1984. Her work in hospitals across Colorado and New York built a strong foundation for her leadership.
