It was not always obvious she would become a doctor, given that she began her education at Jackson College, Tufts University, in Medford, Massachusetts in 1969, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish. While that is an excellent school, she was obviously soon called by the medical profession because she soon entered the Boston University School of Medicine and officially became Dr. Gail Weingast MD in 1976.
After that ignominious start, however, Dr. Gail Weingast is now considered one of the most prominent radiology specialists in the country. Over the course of the last 20 years, she has been at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut, where she is now that organization’s Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging. In about two decades, she has managed to create a department that is now among the premier radiology departments anywhere. Dr. Weingast credits her more than four decades of education and experience for giving her the edge that has made her the great radiologist she is.
